We are the “Rostkloppers going to Kathmandu”. We have been supporting social projects in Nepal since 2010. In November 2023, together with our friend Prem Bahadur Kunwar from “KarmaFlights”, we brought winter jackets made in Nepal for children to Lower Dolpo in Rukum.
The Lower Dolpo is one of the poorest and remotes regions in Nepal. We got to know Barsha Budha Magar on this tour. She is 11 years old and lives with her grandmother at her birthplace Kanda. At the age of one, Barsha suffered burns and lost her right hand. Her parents left her with her grandmother.

The Lower Dolpo is strongly influenced by old traditions. The left hand is still considered „unclean“. This means that Barsha has a social stigma in addition to her physical impairment.
We have set ourselves the goal of organizing a prosthesis for Barsha to alleviate the physical impairment and the social stigma. This prosthesis should make her everyday life easier and be practical.
We are looking for people, companies and organizations who can provide us with theoretical advice, practical help and financial support.
We are in regular contact with Prem in Nepal, who keeps in touch with Barsha and her school principal. Prem supports us in this project and is our contact for translating not only the language but also cultural standards. Our goal is that we can bring Our next trip to Nepal will take place in October 2024. With Prem, we are building a network in Nepal to ensure long-term support from doctors and rehabilitation technicians. We will also support Barsha in the process of learning to live with a prosthesis.
